Corrosivity categories for façades: DIN 18516-1/2024-10 sets new standards

October 2024

For the first time, precise requirements for the corrosion resistance of façade materials have been defined - tailored to the ambient air (categories C1 to C5). Architects and planners benefit on several levels:

  • Material efficiency: Optimum adaptation reduces costs and avoids oversizing.
  • Durability: Less corrosion, lower maintenance requirements.
  • Optimised protection: High-performance coatings such as FEVE 3L prove themselves even under extreme conditions in categories C4 and C5.
  • Conformity to standards: Planning reliability thanks to tested products.

ALPOLICTM - Maritime quality as standard:

ALPOLICTM composite panels (fr, A2, NC/A1) set new standards in corrosion protection, aesthetics and durability - perfect for industrial, urban and coastal applications.

  • FEVE coating: three-layer coating for maximum corrosion protection.
  • Technical perfection: Brilliance and reliability for extreme conditions.
  • Sustainable performance: Reliable even in demanding environments.
  • Tender documents incl. corrosivity classes
